First Spy Photos of the Lexus LFR Street, a Hybrid Supercar to Return to Olympus
The racing version and, for the first time, also the street-legal one. These new spy photos show both versions of the new Lexus LFR undergoing tests on German roads near Nürburgring, powerful hybrids that will be unveiled in 2026, with brutal performance and prices.

Lexus has returned to the roads near the Nürburgring circuit, this time with two prototypes of the anticipated supercar that promises to shake up the luxury market. The Japanese brand was surprised by the unexpected presence of the street model, which made its first appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last July, and had remained hidden.
The Japanese have hidden everything possible under the bodywork of the competition model, which we have seen on other occasions equipped with a huge rear spoiler, as well as other more aggressive aerodynamic solutions. The technicians from GAZOO Racing, who are heavily involved in the development, made this decision - which is common in this category - to carry out all adjustments on the competition model.

However, these interesting spy photos show more clearly the final production design of this supercar, once it has shed the bulky camouflage it has been wearing since its launch on the roads. For example, you can clearly see the design of a more enveloping rear window, the cut of the rear hatch, the ducktail-shaped spoiler, or its large exhausts.
The LFR, as it is expected to be called this flagship of Lexus and which has already been shown as a concept, also reveals the arrow-shaped design of the headlights, as well as the large air intakes located at the front of the immense hood. It will house an imposing 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, while the entire hybrid system is located behind a two-seater cabin.
Almost 1,000 Hybrid HP in the Lexus Supercar
The large ventilation gills opened on the hood indicate the breathing needs of the enormous block, which will offer a maximum power of around 720 HP, according to the first leaked technical details. The addition of an electric motor at the rear is an indicator that this successor to the LFA could feature four-wheel drive, although only under very specific circumstances, but ensuring performance close to 900 HP.
It is said that Lexus has been using a Mercedes-AMG GT R and a GT Black Series as comparison vehicles, so these staggering figures are not surprising, although, of course, they have not been confirmed and will not be until it is presented in 2026. A beast whose price will likely be in the six-figure range.
