The Omoda SUV that dominates due to its price is now hybrid and, with 224 HP and ECO label, sends a serious warning to Dacia
The Omoda 5 is a sales hit due to its low price. Now this SUV launches a hybrid variant that aims for total success. The new Omoda 5 SHS-H arrives with 224 HP, ECO label, and low consumption. It is not only a rival to the MG ZS, but also a serious threat to the Dacia Duster.

The star model of Omoda that dominates sales in Spain due to its low price has introduced a highly anticipated and important novelty. The new Omoda 5 SHS-H has arrived. The self-recharging hybrid (HEV) variant of the Omoda 5 is now a reality. An engine that completes the range and allows Omoda to enter the competitive market of self-recharging hybrid cars.
With the incorporation of the SHS-H technology from the Chery Group, the Omoda 5 is now available in a purely thermal gasoline version, in HEV hybrid version, and in 100% electric variant, the Omoda 5 EV. In addition to being the first self-recharging hybrid from Omoda, it is also the first model from the Chinese brand to feature the coveted ECO label.

The HEV hybrid engine of the new Omoda 5 SHS-H
If we take a look under the hood of the Omoda 5 SHS-H, we will find a 1.5-liter TGDI gasoline engine with four cylinders producing 143 HP. It is accompanied by a 150 kW (204 HP) electric motor. The total combined power is 224 HP and 295 Nm of maximum torque. It is managed through a DHT automatic transmission and features a front-wheel drive configuration.
It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 175 km/h. It homologates an average fuel consumption of 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers and CO2 emissions of 120 g/km according to the WLTP cycle. Thanks to a battery that is part of the hybrid system, it can operate in electric mode in certain situations and for a specific period of time.
The range of the Omoda 5 SHS-H approaches 1,000 kilometers and, being a hybrid car, it displays the ECO environmental label from the DGT with all the mobility advantages that this entails. Through a driving mode selector, you can choose between Eco and Sport profiles to prioritize efficiency or, conversely, performance.

Everything is ready for the commercial launch of the new Omoda 5 SHS-H in Spain. It will be on sale before the end of this year. The range is structured in the Pure and Premium trim levels. Prices are, for now, a mystery. But the brand itself already hints that it will be very competitive, something that worries Dacia and MG.
