The 2026 Formula 1 season promises a lot of excitement for several reasons. The main one is that it will mark the beginning of a new regulatory period with a radically different set of rules compared to the current one.

This will completely change the cars. Not only their appearance but also their aerodynamics, size, tires, and even engines. In fact, Ferrari and Mercedes will be joined by Honda (returning officially with Aston Martin), Audi, and Ford (in collaboration with Red Bull).

Thanks to this, the grid will be completely reset, and all teams will have the opportunity to become contenders for the podium, victories, and perhaps, the world title.

It won't be the only novelty, as we will also have a new team, Cadillac, which will expand the grid to 22 drivers, of which two will be Spanish: Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz, who will continue to defend the honor of Aston Martin and Williams respectively.

Which teams will take advantage of the new regulations?

Spain will have two Grand Prix: Barcelona and Madrid

Another major novelty of the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship will be the arrival of Madrid as the host of the Spanish Grand Prix. But this does not mean that the Montmelo circuit will disappear, as it will host the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

The Madrid event and its new urban circuit will take place in September (11 to 13), while the Barcelona event will be held at the end of spring, specifically between June 12 and 14.

The rest of the Grand Prix will be the already known ones, with the United States maintaining three events and Italy losing the Imola race in favor of Madrid.
