The Toyota RAV4 from MG arrives, a hybrid HEV SUV with 225 HP and a price that revolutionizes the market
Morris Garage has officially announced the launch in Spain of its new self-recharging hybrid SUV. The MG HS Hybrid+ bursts onto the scene to challenge the Toyota RAV4 with HEV technology that offers up to 225 HP and a high level of efficiency. With an ECO label and surprising equipment, the MG HS hybrid is ready to storm the dealerships.

MG continues its unstoppable product offensive. In a short period of time, this popular brand of affordable vehicles has incorporated significant innovations into its range, most of which have been marked by electrification. Morris Garage is already one of the reference brands in the field of electrified mobility. And now it is ready to deliver a hard blow in its fight for leadership in the hybrid car market.
Everything is ready for the new MG HS Hybrid+ to carry out its assault on Spanish dealerships. The MG HS, one of Morris Garage's star models in Europe, adds a third variant to its offer. Until now, it has been available in thermal gasoline and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions. Now it's the turn of the self-recharging hybrid model. An HEV variant that targets models like the Toyota RAV4 and the Dacia Bigster.

It is the third HEV hybrid from MG. Following the launch of the MG3 Hybrid+ and, more recently, the MG ZS Hybrid+, now it's the turn of a model that targets a volume category. Additionally, with the arrival of Hybrid+ technology to the HS range, this MG SUV finally debuts versions with ECO label.
New MG HS Hybrid+, premium interior and maximum safety
The interior of the new HS hybrid perfectly represents MG's "Premium for everyone" strategy. The brand wants to make the premium experience accessible by offering more technology, space, comfort, and design. Key features include a new three-spoke steering wheel and a modern design gear lever.
It is a digital and connected vehicle. It combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. A touchscreen that becomes the "nerve center" of the cabin. It is a key component for managing the infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interior of the new HS is very spacious. It has five seats and the trunk has a loading volume of 507 liters.

It has extensive safety equipment. Among the main driving assistance systems are technologies such as drowsiness monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, emergency automatic braking, speed assist system, emergency lane-keeping assist, front collision warning, intelligent light control, blind spot detection, and rear traffic alert.
The HEV hybrid technology of the new MG HS Hybrid+
Under the hood of this new variant of the best-selling SUV HS lies MG's Hybrid+ technology. That is, a self-recharging hybrid (HEV) propulsion system. A powertrain composed of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 143 HP (105 kW) and an electric motor with 146 kW (199 HP). The combined power reaches 225 HP (165 kW) respectively.
It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds thanks to a new two-speed automatic transmission debuting in this model. The power developed by both engines is sent to the front axle. It is a front-wheel-drive vehicle and, thanks to a 1.8 kWh battery, it can operate in 100% electric mode in certain situations and for a specific period of time. A battery that, by the way, is water-cooled.

It has an average fuel consumption of 5.5 liters per 100 kilometers and CO2 emissions of 126 g/km according to the WLTP cycle. And since it is a hybrid car, it displays the ECO environmental label from the DGT with all the mobility advantages that this entails.
Launch date and prices of the new MG HS Hybrid+
When will it arrive at dealerships? MG has confirmed that the commercialization and opening of orders will start on October 1. Therefore, the first deliveries will take place before the end of this year. The prices for Spain are, for now, a mystery. However, we can take as a reference the €29,300 from which the gasoline MG HS starts. The hybrid variant will be more expensive. It will be around €33,000.
