A Mercedes is struggling to close one of the darkest chapters of its recent history, and it is something that should be done soon, thinking more about the customers but also about the image of a manufacturer that seems to be deteriorating more and more. Some C 63 AMGs that customers do not want but that the brand also seems reluctant to stop offering. The star brand has come up with installing the 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder, an engine configuration that fits much better with the commercial name of the model, especially the numerical part, hitting both the number of cylinders and the displacement. An option we had already talked about, and a gasoline engine that again has a couple of problems; because if the same one as the CLE 53 is used, the power is 449 hp and it will be very difficult to extract 100 hp. Unfeasible.

However, if it uses the configuration of the E 53 AMG, then we are talking about a plug-in hybrid, raising the performance to a whopping 585 hp. Enough, because the higher mode of 612 hp will not be available in any way. The status is determined, first, by the model, and then by the power, although this option may escape the wrath of customers for an important reason.

And that is because its battery allows for an electric range of 100 kilometers, compared to the twenty that the model currently on sale still has. The difference is enormous and, although the technical configuration is similar to that of the new Audi RS 5 that are in preparation, it is still far from the M3 CS Touring.
