Genesis has already announced its expansion across the European continent, and it looks like it wants to make a grand entrance. The luxury brand's big bet is one of the most spectacular electric cars, a Genesis GV60 Magma for sports car lovers that has no rival among the German Premium brands.
Genesis is preparing for a new era. A few months ago, the Korean luxury brand confirmed its expansion into other European markets, a long wait that will materialize in 2026 and will allow it to reach customers who look much further than the German luxury brands.
An important breath of fresh air in a market category where renowned Japanese and American brands have failed, and this Korean brand has the opportunity to prove that it is not just a domain of a few. The third brand of the Hyundai group will expand its reach in 2026, debuting not only with a respected range of models but with a star among sports cars: the new Genesis GV60 Magma has already confirmed its world debut at the 2026 World Endurance Championship.
Genesis is Ready with Its First Sports Compact
The sportiest version of what is the smallest electric car from Genesis has also confirmed its commercial name, one that was very much up in the air and thought to be replaced by a more conventional name like GV60 Sport.
The Koreans have thought better of it and have taken advantage of the same surname used in the conceptual previews of these high-performance versions, a name that will also be represented by a unique body color, a bright orange.
The new Genesis GV60 Magma is an open secret, which we have seen in different phases of its development and even fully uncovered rolling on the roads of the Alps. A beast that has been fine-tuned on a large number of roads around the world, but also in one of the cradles of spy photos and new model development: the Nürburgring circuit.
Almost 600 HP of Pure Fun in the Most Radical Genesis GV60
Also on the demanding South Korean tracks at the Namyang headquarters or at the Inje Speedium circuit, in the lonely roads of Death Valley, California, with the added challenge of scorching temperatures, as well as in special facilities in New Zealand facing sub-zero conditions at 1,500 meters above sea level, adjusting the agility on icy curves and wind-swept roads.
Although it has not been officially presented, the new Genesis GV60 Magma is already one of the beasts in the category. Its two electric motors will develop a maximum power close to 600 HP, so acceleration will be more than dizzying. The opposite is true for the range, which, barring surprises, will fall below 500 kilometers on a single charge. Danger looms for the Germans...
