Dacia surprises with the Duster Pick-Up that Europe was crying out for...and you can already buy it
No, this is not a joke, nor has April Fool's Day come early. The new Dacia Duster now has its own pick-up variant and you don't have to go to South America to get a copy of the old Oroch. The Romanian brand has found a compatriot bodybuilder to handle the modifications.

It has been one of the most desired models among pick-up lovers, but it only materialized in one generation and was not available in all markets, despite having a significant customer base secured. The Renault Oroch, as the first Duster transformed into a pick-up is known, was never sold on the European continent, leaving many wanting.
The possibility of getting a copy was much more of an odyssey, as the price had to include import duties, making the operation unfeasible. But, Dacia, which knows perfectly the demand it would receive for a Duster pick-up, has already found someone to make the modifications: the compatriots of SC Romturingia SRL are in charge of making the changes to the bodywork.

Dacia also wanted a Duster Pick-Up and now it has one
And, as you can see, it is as easy as cutting almost flush with the fixed window of the rear pillar, leaving a configuration of double cab and a small platform at the back, which is what the bulky trunk has turned into. The modifications have hardly changed the dimensions of the Duster pick-up, as you can see detailed below.
Dimensions | Duster Pick-up | Duster |
---|---|---|
Length | 4,345 mm | 4,343 mm |
Width | 1,813 mm | 1,813 mm |
Height | 1,656 mm | 1,693 mm |
Wheelbase | 2,657 mm | 2,657 mm |
Ground clearance | 224 mm | 217 / 209 * |
Officially homologated dimensions in the Duster Pick-up / * With 4x2 or 4x4 traction
Dacia assures that, despite the changes, the space of the Duster has been maintained, which has an interior length of 1,050 millimeters and a width of 1,000 millimeters, in addition to supporting a maximum weight of 430 kilograms at the rear. Removing the tailgate has required the installation of a front cover, exposing the small cargo box that is separated from the cabin by a partition.
Hybrid and with all-wheel drive, the Dacia Duster Pick-up has it all
Dacia has already confirmed that this new Duster Pick-Up can be homologated as a commercial vehicle and also for passenger transport, available in the Romanian market with three available trims -Expression, Extreme, and Journey- and with two engines: the 140 HP hybrid and the version equipped with the gasoline engine MHEV with a maximum power of 130 HP and 4x4 traction.
For now, it is unknown whether the new Dacia Duster Pick-up will jump to other European markets, which depends on demand, but it is already available in Romanian dealerships. If you are interested, you can reserve a copy even though it is not cheap: its price is 30,919 euros, taxes included.
