After months of silence, the Audi RS 6 Avant e-tron is back and peeking at Nurburgring
Nurburgring is returning to normal industry testing, now that the Munich Motor Show has ended, although it has not closed its doors. Audi has approached the German track with a prototype of one of its fastest family cars, the new Audi RS 6 Avant e-tron 2026.
It has been months since the last sighting of a prototype of what will be one of the fastest family cars on the planet. The specialists from the Audi Sport department are working intensely and hard on the development of a new generation of high-performance models equipped with electrified engines, leaving aside what was supposed to be the star: the new Audi RS 6 Avant e-tron 2026.
A model that has not been heard of for the past year. That is the time that has passed since this more brutal version of the new Audi A6 Avant e-tron made its presence known on one of the test tracks inside the central factory in Ingolstadt. Some interesting spy photos that must have 'stung' the four-ring brand, as this high-end model that will arrive in 2026 was discovered.

The zero-emission alternative to another beast that Audi is developing in parallel, and which we have already seen in a state closer to production, a RS 6 Avant that also shares sportiness and innate aggressiveness. The electric one is almost a little less, although not much, as you can see in the image of the front.
This stands out for its smaller air intakes, connected to those at the other end through the center forming a sinuous curve. A voluminous front bumper that still presents too much camouflage and continues to hide a spoiler on the lower lip. The characteristic vertical gill is present in the front fenders, as well as sharp side skirts and bulging wheel arches.
800 HP in Audi's most powerful electric family car
The absence of the two oval exhausts at the rear is a detail typical of this high-level A6 Avant e-tron, but it has facilitated the installation of a split aerodynamic diffuser in a couple of sections. A key element, like all the underbody fairing, to ensure perfect dynamic behavior at high speeds, and the protection of the undercarriage when flying over the asphalt.
Because that is exactly what this new RS 6 Avant e-tron will do. A family car that will far surpass the equivalent high-performance variant, which will feature a plug-in hybrid system and more than 700 HP. The two electric motors of this RS 6 not only provide quattro traction, but also superlative performance, with nearly 800 HP. Another thing is the range, which will approach 600 kilometers on a charge. We will discover this in mid-2026.
