Muscle cars

All the news and information about: Muscle cars

The Muscle cars are a unique segment of the American market. These models originated as mere enhanced versions of other existing models in the mid-1960s in the United States, and their rapid success quickly led to the formation of the segment that received this designation.

This effect occurred naturally and non-standardized, so the term “muscle car” can be quite ambiguous. Initially, it was used to define 2-door models with at least 4 seats and very high displacement engines, always V8 big-block engines (over 6.0 liters), with specific configurations to achieve maximum power. These were based on platforms or directly on existing models and had a relatively low price.

These types of models disappeared from the market with the first Oil Crisis in the early 1970s, although the term continued to be applied to this day to refer to models or versions with very high potential. Currently, it is generally considered that Muscle cars are those more enhanced versions aimed at drag racing of current American models, regardless of the type to which these models belong.
