Renault prepares a hard blow to BYD and MG with a new Twingo revealed in these spy photos
The new Renault Twingo 2026 has been spotted during testing with less camouflage. Renault's utility vehicle will soon debut a generation packed with innovations. The Twingo will return to dealerships to make things difficult for BYD and MG. With an affordable price and good performance, it promises to be a bestseller.

The fourth generation of the Renault Twingo will be a reality. Renault has set its machinery in motion with a clear goal, to bring back its iconic utility vehicle as soon as possible. The Twingo has been one of the kings of the city in Europe for years and now, with a complete renovation, it prepares its return to the arena to aspire to lead a market where electrified mobility is the protagonist.
About two years ago, Renault officially announced the new generation of the Twingo. An announcement accompanied by a very interesting concept model that lays the groundwork for what will be the production vehicle that we will know sooner rather than later. A year later, that concept car made headlines again as the brand revealed its interior as a second preview. Shortly after, sightings of prototypes began.

Spy photos of the new Renault Twingo 2026
The first prototype of the new Twingo was spotted in distant China. And it's no coincidence. Most of the development process is taking place in the Asian country with the aim, among other things, of reducing costs and time. Recently, the new electric Twingo made headlines again. This time in Europe, where a test unit was seen driving on open roads.
After a few months without news of the new Twingo, this future Renault novelty is back in the spotlight. Our spy photographers have caught a prototype of the new Twingo during the testing phase. A very important sighting since, in addition to allowing us to get closer to the development, it shows a notable loss of camouflage.
Part of the front optical groups is exposed. Some of the camouflage has also been removed from the grille and the bumper mesh. Likewise, we must point out the peculiar wheels that this unit is fitted with, which have an aerodynamic design. The rear, although still covered by camouflage in its entirety, hints at the shape that the rear lights will take.

The range of the new Renault Twingo 2026
Developed on the AmpR Small platform of the Renault Group, it will feature a front-wheel drive configuration. It will be powered by a motor that delivers a maximum power of 110 hp. A motor powered by a battery of approximately 40 kWh, enough to homologate a range of about 300 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle.
In the Renault range, it will be positioned as the "little brother" of the Renault 5. It will be the most affordable electric vehicle from the French brand. And it will be available for less than €20,000. To see it in dealerships, we will have to wait until the first half of 2026.
