However, it wasn't until just a few months ago that this information materialized into something tangible with the first sighting of a prototype of the new Megane E-Tech. A test unit was spotted during the testing phase. After a period without news, this Renault novelty is back in the spotlight. And for something important.

Our spy photographers have once again caught a prototype of the new electric Megane that will arrive at dealerships next year. A sighting that, compared to previous ones, presents an important novelty. Loss of camouflage. Renault has removed a small part of the camouflage covering the front of the vehicle. And although it has been very little, it is enough to reveal a detail that hints at the renewed design that this model will showcase.
Part of the new daytime running lights that the Megane E-Tech will debut are revealed in these spy photos. As it is a facelift, the aesthetic changes will focus on the front. It will feature new optical groups, the aforementioned daytime running lights will be redesigned, and there will also be modifications to the grille and bumper. All this with the aim of adapting this model to Renault's new design philosophy.
The rear will not be exempt from this update. However, the changes will be less radical. Just enough to align the rear with the front. The brand will also take the opportunity to add new customization options such as, for example, colors for the bodywork.
More range for the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric
The interior will also not undergo a major redesign. Renault will focus on improving the list of driving assistants as well as the multimedia system. However, the big leap that the Megane will take with this update is related to the electric propulsion system. It will debut batteries produced in French territory. It will stop being equipped with LG Chem batteries to incorporate the new Envision batteries that are produced in Douai.
The new batteries, combined with software improvements and other adjustments, will allow the electric Megane to increase its range to nearly (or above) 500 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle.
When will it hit the market? The renewed electric Megane will be presented before the end of this year. Therefore, it will reach dealerships in the first half of 2026. This update will be key in the immediate future of this model. And all this despite the fact that the cap of Renault has greenlit a new generation of the Megane. However, for this generational change to occur, there are still a few years to go.
