The electrified engines of the new Volkswagen T-Roc 2026
Regarding the mechanical section, the new T-Roc begins its commercial journey in Spain with two gasoline engines. Both with 48-volt mild hybrid technology (MHEV). The entry-level option is a 1.5-liter eTSI engine with four cylinders producing 116 CV and 220 Nm of maximum torque. A higher level features a 1.5 eTSI engine with 150 CV and 250 Nm of maximum torque respectively.
Both engines are paired with a DSG automatic transmission with seven speeds. There is no manual option. This type of transmission is lost with the generational change. Both engines feature a front-wheel drive configuration. The 4Motion versions will arrive later along with other mechanical options such as the anticipated self-recharging hybrid variant (HEV).
With MHEV technology, the T-Roc with eTSI engine is classified as a hybrid vehicle and therefore displays the ECO environmental label from the DGT with all the mobility advantages that entails.
