KGM takes the lead over MG with the new Torres Hybrid, a rival for Toyota that already has prices
The new KGM Torres HEV already has prices in Spain. The Korean SUV launches a much-anticipated self-recharging hybrid (HEV) version that aims to deliver a strong blow to the MG HS and position itself as an unexpected rival to the Toyota RAV4. A hybrid SUV that features BYD technology.

KGM is ready to storm the competitive market of self-recharging hybrid cars (HEV). The Korean manufacturer continues to expand its range of electrified vehicles and after betting on exclusively electric mobility, it finally incorporates a "less committed" technology into its lineup. KGM's first hybrid is set to hit our dealerships. The new KGM Torres Hybrid.
The self-recharging hybrid variant of the KGM Torres already has prices in Spain. The order book will be opened imminently and, if all goes as planned, the first units will be available before the end of this year. Just a few weeks ago, we hinted that the new hybrid Torres was ready to break the mold in Europe. A model that, as we will see in this article, is the result of the close collaboration between KGM and BYD.

The new KGM hybrid Torres takes the lead over the MG HS Hybrid+
With the hybrid Torres, the KGM brand enters a market, and a segment, where competition is fierce. Not only will it have to face heavyweight competitors like the Toyota RAV4, but it will also have to deal with Chinese-origin SUVs that are doing very well in our market. However, KGM is ahead of the launch of the MG HS Hybrid+, which gives it a certain advantage.
Until now, the Torres range consisted of purely thermal gasoline versions, bifuel versions adapted to LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), and recently, a 100% electric variant has been added. With this hybrid engine, an ECO alternative to the bifuel engine is offered. The new KGM Torres Hybrid is available in the trim levels Trend and Life. The Adventure trim is excluded from the hybrid offer, for now.
