About me
My first memories of Formula 1 are in black and white. José María Casanovas and -seriously- Mercedes Milá interviewing Niki Lauda and Emerson Fittipaldi in Montjuic. But it was the first race in color that awakened in me the passion that has never left me.
Monaco, 1980. Ken Tyrrell was not amused, but Derek Daly's flight over Bruno Giacomelli and Alain Prost, landing on his teammate, Jean Pierre Jarier, captured my imagination. Soon, I was subscribed to Grand Prix International and dedicated many recesses to go extract my personal bible from the mailbox.
I studied philology and journalism dreaming of one day being able to put together letters about those colorful little car races. I began my career in my hometown, Ponferrada, following local sports, especially the adventures of Ponferradina in the Third Division fields and later, Segunda B. Fate wanted the athletic glory of Sil to rise to Segunda once I had moved to Madrid...
In 2005, who would have thought, I started collaborating with the revived Grand Prix, and by the end of the year, I joined Auto Bild, where I spent seven years in charge of the sports section and the special preseason issues of Formula 1.
I have been collaborating with Motor.es since May 2015. And it is a pleasure to share a space with a group of colleagues who combine passion and knowledge.
