Every year, in Formula 1 it is relatively easy to predict which teams will be at the top positions. However, whenever there is a major regulatory change, the situation becomes unclear.

In 2026 much more will happen than that, as we are facing the most disruptive regulation in modern F1. One that is capable of completely overturning everything.

Aston Martin will dominate

There are certainly those who are very clear about who will be the new dominator of the category. Juan Pablo Montoya is one of them, and in statements to jackpotcitycasino.com he has stated that Aston Martin is the team destined to create a new dynasty.

“I think Aston is going to be the team that will win everything in two years”, says the former Colombian driver, before speculating about the possible arrival of Max Verstappen to the team based in Silverstone.

“Alonso is not going anywhere. The only way Alonso would leave for Alpine is if Max [Verstappen] were there [at Aston Martin]. I think next year, if Red Bull doesn’t perform, Max will choose between Aston Martin and Mercedes, whoever is more competitive. Realistically, I think Aston makes much more sense. It’s familiar territory,” he added.

“There are so many changes in F1 in 2026 that it is really difficult to predict who will be good next year. And even if Aston Martin struggles next year, the following year things can turn around. And by the second year, they put it all together and win everything,” he reiterated.

Horner would be a great signing

Juan Pablo Montoya has not only predicted the arrival of Max Verstappen and the dominance of Aston Martin, he also believes that signing Christian Horner would be a great move. Currently, Andy Cowell serves as team director while also holding the role of CEO of Aston Martin Performance Technologies. Therefore, there would be room for a new addition.

Will Verstappen, Newey, and Horner be together at Aston Martin? Montoya sees it as very logical.

“Horner would be a very good addition to that team,” Montoya states. “The experience that Christian has managing teams, whether people like it or not, his success rate with Red Bull cannot be overstated. You can’t say it was just Adrian [Newey], you still have to manage the team.

“Many more things happen, you need to have a leader to really shine. That is really important. I think it would be great if he joined. If they gather the whole crew, they will win everything,” concludes Juan Pablo Montoya.
